Start your July 4th celebration with a scenic 5K or 10K run through beautiful historic downtown Blue Ridge, Georgia. Bring your friends and family out to be a part of the 3rd Annual Blue Ridge Freedom 5K and 10K hosted by Georgia Multisports. Stay after the race to enjoy all that downtown Blue Ridge has to offer: shopping, dining, train ride and more.

Show your patriotism by coming dressed in your finest red, white and blue running gear.

Stick around after the race to enjoy a post race celebration offering sweet tea, lemonade, watermelon, music and more.

Awards will be given to the top three males and females, top one masters male and masters females. Top three males and females in the following age group categories: 10 & Under, 11 – 14, 15 – 19, 20 – 24, 25 -29, 30 – 34, 35 -39, 40 -44, 45-49, 50 -54, 55 – 59, 60 – 64, 65 – 69, 70 & Up.

Old Timers 4th of July Parade @ Downtown Blue Ridge

Bring your antique vehicles, dress in period attire. Parade route is down East Main and back up West Main street. Once again we are thrilled to have the Seed & Feed Marching Abominable band in the parade! Anyplace downtown is a good viewing spot.

The skies over the twin cities of McCaysville, Ga and Copperhill, TN will be lit up on Friday night. Anywhere downtown is a great viewing area!

Don’t want to drive? You can board the Firecracker Express in Downtown Blue Ridge and arrive by train.

There will be a street festival, vendors with food etc. Live music. First Baptist Church of LMcCaysville has a fair that is open to the public, festivities start around 6 p.m.

Lake Blue Ridge Boat Parade

4th Annual Lake Blue Ridge Boat Parade put on by the Lake Blue Ridge Civic Association. Follow website link to register. Pick your theme and start decorating! Registration is $35.00 in advance. Follow website link for details to register.

Places to watch from the shore: Blue Ridge Recreation Area along the point (Located on Dry Branch Road) Morganton Point Recreation Area and Lake Blue Ridge Marina. Can also be viewed from the lake, the parade will follow the shoreline from Blue Ridge Recreation Area to Morganton Point Recreation Area and ends by the Lake Blue Ridge Marina.

Lake Blue Ridge 4th of July Fireworks @ Lake Blue Ridge Marina

The 2019 4th of July fireworks will be sponsored by the Blue Ridge Civic Association. Lake Blue Ridge Marina will have a large area roped off for the viewing of Independence Day fireworks. Free parking is provided within the fenced lot. No cars will be allowed to enter the area of the marina between 6 p.m. and 9 p.m. to protect pedestrians walking in to the fireworks.

Firecracker Special @ Blue Ridge Scenic Railway

July 5, 2019- 7:00 pm til 11:00 pm

Join them as they celebrate the birth of our great nation on Friday, July 5th for their Firecracker Special train.

The train will depart Blue Ridge at 7:00 pm to enjoy the great Copper Basin Fireworks display just after dark and then return to Blue Ridge by 11:00pm.

Bring your lawn chair and sit outside the train to view the fireworks! Activities in downtown McCaysville/Copperhill when you arrive. Lots of vendors for food and things to do for the kids until the fireworks start.

Join us for our annual Pre-4th Fireworks Celebration! Bring a chair and find a spot for the big fireworks display. There will be food vendors, music, and kid’s activities on site. The fun starts at 6pm, the fireworks display will start after dark (around 9:15ish)! If you want to see the fireworks from your boat just head over to the dam around dusk.

4th of July Boat Parade on Lake Chatuge

Thursday July 4, 2019- 10:30 am til 12:30 pm

Spend America’s birthday in Hiawassee and watch the annual 4th of July Boat Parade on Lake Chatuge. Enjoy the rest of the day on this beautiful lake.

Boaters line up in the Sunset Bay Cove behind Aqua Tiki, the Grand Marshal, for the parade beginning at 10:30 a.m. No wake, and boats must fly a U.S. flag. Additional patriotic decorations are encouraged. Boats must have a number issued to be considered for judging. A $50 prize will be awarded for most creatively decorated boat, and also for the most red, white and blue.

Boats will parade past the Georgia Mountain Fairgrounds, under Anderson Bridge, and past the Hiawassee Beach are before disbanding. Judges will be positioned at the Georgia Mountain Fairgrounds.
